Assignment:
Design a poster that
demonstrates your ability as an artist and graphic designer. The poster may
announce or advertise anything.
The minimum size is 8 ½
X 11, but you can produce it
in any size you want. Those of you who wish to print your work in larger sizes
should remember that photographs need to be saved in very high-resolution
formats to retain their original appearance when they are greatly enlarged.
Your previous projects have involved single elements of design using computer illustration tools. This one is intended as an opportunity to produce a serious portfolio piece using elements of your choosing. You will be given 3 weeks to complete the assignment. The single number grade you receive on the poster will be tripled. (Example: if you receive an “8,” you will have 3 “8’s “ added to the grades that produce your average, as if you had done 3 assignments and received an 8 on each one.)
